Karnataka Style Onion Chutney-Step by step process of onion tomato chutney is shown in below which is the right choice as a side dish in Dosa, Idli, Chapati’s and so on. Preparation of Onion chutney is very easy, takes very less time and also requires very less ingredients. Here we are using onions as a main ingredient all of us know about onions health benefits it is rich in vitamin C, B-6 and it helps to stabalizes diabetes, supports for hair growth and healthy digestion, also slows down our aging process etc, so many health benefits are there.
It is very good combination in dosas, idli’s, chapathi’s. Kids also like this recipe a lot and helps to their growth. I already introduced a lot of side dishes like Dosa karam, Chintapandu pachadhi etc. This recipe is famous in kannada when i went to a vacation bangalore there i found this recipe in restaurant i had this recipe at the first time.After have this chutney i felt very tasty, spicy, yummy…. so later i know this recipe preparation process now i introduce this recipe to you also because everyone must have this tasty delicious onion tomato chutney so all of try his recipe tell me your opinions as a comments.
Oil– 3 tbsp
Mustard seeds– 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds– 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida or Hing– 1 to 2 pinch
Red Chillies– 5 to 6
Cashews– 5 to 10
- Initially make tomatoes and onions into pieces. Keep it aside.
- Heat oil add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, asafoetida fry it until mustard seeds will splattering later add red chillies again mix it well. Until it becomes crispy.
- later add onions cook until it becomes transparent now add tomatoes, cashews again cook it till tomatoes become mushy , now switch off the flame let it be cool.
- Now take the mixture into a blender grind it into a fine paste. Now it is ready to serve as a side dish in dosa, idli etc.
