Rava Pulihora

Rava Pulihora is very famous in Andhra Pradesh and is also named as Pindi pulihora .It is very easy to prepare and takes less time to cook.This recipe is quite fit for lunch boxes also those who are both wife and husband are employees this pulihora is good for them i already mentioned above easy and quick recipe and also we feel our stomach fully loaded after having this rava pulihora.

It is quite similar to lemon rice, this recipe we can prepare by using broken wheat instead of rice rava and it is called as samba rice, we can also prepare by using tamarind instead of lemon juice .

Pindi pulihora is also a traditional recipe and is prepare at the time of festivals, functions etc.It is also very good at breakfast time.

While having this recipe is tangyness to taste at the middle crunchy crunchy roasted nuts, dhal and little bit of spiceness hmmmmm…..While writing about the taste it will makes me mouth watering.

Here we use rice rava, lemon as main ingredient due to this we will get vitaminC and carbohydrates, so it is healthy also do u know all of you about the advantages of vitamin C and carbohydrates. I will prepare this recipe at least once in a week. Everyone get boring by eating regular lemon rice so try this recipe and tell me your opinions as comments.

Ingredients:-

  • Rice rava-1 cup
  • Lemon-1 to 2
  • Water-2 cups
  • Salt to taste

For Tempering:-

  • Oil-2 to 3 tbsp
  • Chana dhal-1 tsp
  • Urad dhal-1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds-1/4 tsp
  • Green chilies-3 to 4
  • ground nuts-1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder -1 pinch
  • Cashews as you wish
  • Hing or Asafeotida-1 pinch

Preparation Steps:-

  1. Initially boil rice rava and keep aside.
  2. Squeeze lemons and extract juice keep aside.
  3. Heat oil add ground nuts fry for 1 or 2 minutes later add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana dhal, urad dhal fry it till mustard seeds splutter now add curry leaves, green chilies, cashews,turmeric powder.
  4. Fry it until cashews turns golden brown in colour finally add hing and put off the flame.
  5. Now add entire mixture into boiling rice rava mix it well later add salt and lemon juice required to taste.

Note:-

Rava will get cool then only you have to add lemon juice otherwise pulihora get sour to taste
