Kobbari Karam Podi:

Kobbari karam podi or Spicy dry coconut powder is one of the Podi variety in South-Indian Cuisine. It is one of the most popular recipe in Andra Pradesh state and it is called as Kobbari karam in telugu. Dry coconut powder is the best combination in dosa, idli . When we don’t have curry in our house it is used as recipe in plain rice along with dollop of ghee tastes so yummy spicy also. Kobbari Karam is mild spicy so children’s also can have this recipe easily. By adding this powder  while cooking in any fry recipes may get a different flavor to that fry recipe .

It is also a nutritious Podi recipes because here we are using dry coconut and red chilies as main ingredient. Dry coconut is high in fiber content due to this it lower the cholesterol levels in our body so this recipe is very good for our health. From my childhood i heard and prepared this recipe and i enjoy a lot while having this recipe so guys all of you try this recipe and enjoy the taste of spicy dry coconut powder and tell me your opinion as a comment in my recipes blog.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup Dry coconut
  • 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp Coriander seeds
  • 5 or 6 Garlic cloves
  • 10 or 15 Red chillies
  • Required Salt

Steps for Preparing Kobbari Karam Recipe

  1. Finely chop dry coconut into pieces. Dry roast red chillis in a wide bottomed pan till it becomes crispy but make sure not to burn too much. Let it be cool and keep them aside.
  2. Now add dry coconut pieces, red chillis , cumin seeds, coriander seeds in to a blender grind it coarsely.
  3. Now add garlic cloves , required salt again grind it and make it into a coarse powder .Transfer this powder into air tight container it may stored till 2 or 3 weeks.
  4. Serve this spicy spicy powder in hot hot rice along with dollop of ghee and also very good combination in dosa, idli and also flavored in all fries and in curries.
